Portfolio Review for Prior Learning Assessment
Did you know that you may be able to gain ΞΆΓάΘ¦ credits for outside the classroom college-level learning experiences? Relevant work experience, employer sponsored training or internships, community activities, volunteer work, living in another culture, self-guided education, artistic development, and other types of pursuits may entitle you to credits.
How it Works
Once you're an enrolled undergraduate student at ΞΆΓάΘ¦, you may go through a simple portfolio review process to gain credit for outside the classroom experiences. The Prior Learning Assessment Portfolio that you would prepare would include descriptions of trainings/learning completed, along with any complimenting documentation and letters of recommendation from supervisors/trainers. Your portfolio would then be evaluated and credits would be granted for relevant and appropriate experience. Credits may be designated as elective credit or, if applicable, major credit.
Credit for Other Experiences - No Portfolio Needed
These two learning experiences, which shouldn't be included in a Prior Learning Assessment Portfolio, can still provide you with ΞΆΓάΘ¦ credit.
NOCTI Credit
The National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) provides the NOCTI Workforce Competency Credential, a certification that yields 23 elective credits for students interested in pursuing a ΞΆΓάΘ¦ degree in Technology Education. If you achieve this certification, just submit the NOCTI certificate to the Admissions Office as part of the application process. Your credits will be posted when you become enrolled as a ΞΆΓάΘ¦ student.
CNA License
Undergraduate students who have earned a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license are awarded 4 elective credits. Just submit an official copy of your current CNA license to the Admissions Office as part of the application process. Your credits will be posted when you become enrolled as a ΞΆΓάΘ¦ student. If you become an undergraduate nursing student at ΞΆΓάΘ¦ you will also have a review with the School of Nursing.
