Information for Advanced Degree Ceremony Faculty and Marshals

Dear Faculty and Marshals,

We are very excited to celebrate this year's candidates for advanced degrees on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. in the Murray Center on our beautiful campus, once again. We are anticipating over 200 graduate students and over 1,500 family and guests to participate in this year’s ceremony. For our students, this day marks the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. We know you understand how important your attendance is at this event to show your support for the class of 2024.

Participation in Commencement

Faculty

If you wish to participate in the ceremony and be seated in the faculty section of The Murray Center, please complete our Form for Faculty Participation in the Ceremony.

Ph.D. and DNP Faculty Advisors

You will receive special instructions on accompanying your candidates. You will be seated with your candidates and will accompany them onto the stage to be hooded.

Marshals

Marshals will assist with pre-ceremony, processional line-up of the graduating candidates, during the diploma distribution, and at the recessional. Volunteers will be required to report to the Murray Center no later than 3:30 p.m. on the 9th. The ceremony will conclude at approximately 7:30 p.m.  You will receive parking accommodations and light refreshments prior to the ceremony. If you wish to participate as a Marshal, please complete our . The form will also ask you which of these training sessions you can attend:

  • Friday, April 19, 12:30–1:30 p.m. Gaige Auditorium
  • Friday, April 26, 12:30–1:30 p.m. Gaige Auditorium
