Notice Regarding the 2024 Final Rule

ΞΆΓάΘ¦ has been subsequently included in the Memorandum and Order issued by the United States District Court for the District of Kansas in the State of Kansas v United States Department of Education, et al on July 2, 2024. The College, as of August 1, 2024, will not apply the Council on Postsecondary Education's 2024 Title IX Sex Discrimination Policy and Procedures until further order and/or instruction from this Court or another federal court. It will continue to apply the Council’s Title IX Sexual Harassment Policies and Procedures, as amended, pending such court action.

The Office of Institutional Equity provides education, training, and outreach regarding issues of access, equity, opportunity and Title IX.

Non-discrimination and Title IX Notice

ΞΆΓάΘ¦ does not discriminate on the basis of sex in the education program or activity that it operates, and is required by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 not to discriminate in such a manner. The requirement not to discriminate in the education program or activity extends to admission and employment. Inquiries about the application of title IX to ΞΆΓάΘ¦ may be referred to the Title IX Coordinator or to the Office for Civil Rights, or both.

Title IX Regulations

It is the policy of ΞΆΓάΘ¦ to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in the education program or activity it operates pursuant to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. The Title IX Sexual Harassment Policy and Procedures provide for the prompt and equitable resolution of student and employee complaints alleging any action that would be prohibited by Title IX, as well as a grievance process that complies with the Title IX Regulations as they pertain to formal complaints. The Title IX Sexual Harassment Policy and Procedures describe the College's procedures, including how to report or file a complaint of sex discrimination, how to report or file a formal complaint of sexual harassment, and how the College will respond.

Complaints that do not meet the definition of Sexual Harassment under Title IX are investigated and adjudicated in accordance with the Council for Postsecondary Education Nondiscrimination Policy and Complaint Procedures under Affirmative Action through the Office of Institutional Equity.

The U.S. Department of Education Final Rule under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities receiving federal financial assistance, became effective on August 14, 2020.

Any ΞΆΓάΘ¦ ("the College") employee (including administrators, faculty and staff), student or volunteer affiliated with the College who suspects child abuse or neglect, including sexual abuse, must immediately report the suspected abuse or neglect to Campus Police at 401-456-8888. Campus Police will immediately report the abuse to the Department of Children, Youth and Families, as applicable; and the Department of Children, Youth and Families will investigate immediately.
