On December 31, 2018, the President signed into law the Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018. Here we detail how ΞΆΓάΘ¦ has and will continue to respond accordingly.

Our Accommodations for Chapter 33 and 31 Students

Beginning August 1, 2019, for any student using Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill or Chapter 31 Vocational Rehab benefits, even if the VA has not yet paid tuition and fees, ΞΆΓάΘ¦ will not:

  • assess a late penalty fee
  • require securing alternative or additional funding

In addition, the statute allows for and ΞΆΓάΘ¦ does require Ch. 33 and Ch. 31 students to take the following additional actions:

  1. Submit a certificate of eligibility (or 1905) for entitlement to educational assistance no later than the first day of a course of education.
  2. Submit a written request to use such entitlement.
  3. Provide additional information necessary to the proper certification of enrollment.
  4. Require additional payment or impose a fee for the amount that is the difference between the amount of the student’s financial obligation and the amount of the VA education benefit disbursement.
