The Office of Academic Advising: A Partnership

We are here to collaborate with students in creating and assessing academic, personal and career orientated goals, encouraging students to get involved on campus, and focusing on resources that can enhance their ΞΆΓάΘ¦ experience academically, and holistically. Additionally, our office utilizes Starfish in order to schedule appointments, create engagement within the campus community, and to connect students to the proper resources.

Who We Advise

In the Office of Academic Advising, we are the initial, assigned academic advisor for the majors outlined here, in order to support first-year students in navigating the start of their college experience. Students in these populations are assigned to an advisor in the Office of Academic Advising and will transition to a faculty advisor at certain points in their academic program:

  • Exploring majors
  • First Year, Intended Feinstein School of Education & Human Development majors
  • First Year, School of Business majors
  • First Year, Intended Zvart Onanian School of Nursing majors
  • First Year, Intended Medical Imaging majors
  • First Year, Intended Social Work majors

Please Note: Transfer students coming in with 24 or more credits will work directly with a faculty advisor in their major for academic advising.

Supporting our Advisees

We support our assigned advisees with:

  • Course registration, academic planning, & navigating degree requirements
  • Schedule changes (add/drop period, academic withdrawals, etc.)
  • Individual end of semester progress review & outreach
  • Major exploration & career pathways
  • Intentional resource referral & connection to the campus community
  • Applying to Intended programs (Education, Medical Imaging, Nursing)
