Early admission track programs allow students to begin their graduate work as undergraduates.
B.A. to M.A. in Justice Studies
Students matriculated in the ΢ÃÜȦ undergraduate justice studies major may apply for a combined B.A./M.A. option
For students interested in advanced study in:
- °ä°ù¾±³¾¾±²Ô´Ç±ô´Ç²µ²â.​
- Sociology or related fields.
For students interested in working in justice and social services fields, including:
- Social and human services agencies.
- Law enforcement.
- Non-profit organizations.
- Non-governmental agencies focused on justice issues.​
Apply after completing 75 undergraduate credits, including at least 20 credits towards the Justice Studies major. A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required.
B.A. to M.A. in Mathematical Studies
Students develop:
- Quantitative and abstract reasoning.
- Ability to use mathematics as a computational and analytical tool.
For students seeking:
- A solid foundation in major areas of mathematics.
- Appreciation for the structures and theories of advanced mathematics.
- Deeper understanding of the role of mathematics in association with the real world.
Apply for conditional admission after completing 60 undergraduate credits. The GRE is waived for applicants with an overall GPA of 3.0 and grades of B or higher in all required courses.​
B.A. to M.A. in Psychology
Students develop:
- Understanding of psychological theory and principles.
- Understanding of the scientific method of inquiry and data analysis.
- Ability to be critical consumers of psychological literature.
- Ability to conduct independent research.
For students seeking employment in:
- Human services.
- Science-related fields
- The public or private sector.
Apply for conditional admission after completing 60 undergraduate credits in the program. The GRE is waived for applicants with an overall GPA of 3.0 and grades of B or higher in all required courses.
This is a 30-credit graduate degree. The B.A. to M.A. option means that students complete 14 graduate credits as undergraduates.​
B.A. to M.A. in English
For students interested in advanced study in:
- Literature.
- Writing.
- Cultural Studies
Students develop:
- A background in major areas of literature.
- Advanced writing skills.
- Critical thinking, reading and interpretation.
- Appreciation of the importance of literature, writing and culture.​
Apply for conditional admission after completing 72 undergraduate credits. A minimum GPA of 3.0 overall and 3.2 in English courses in required.​​
B.S. to M.Ed. in Special Education, with Concentration in Urban Multicultural Special Education
For students seeking:
- RI teaching certification in teaching English as a second language (ESL).
Students develop:
- Knowledge of the structure and acquisition of language, and of the socio-cultural contexts in which English is learned.
- Knowledge of the nature and role of culture and cultural groups, and ability to create positive learning environments.
- Ability to provide culturally and linguistically responsive practices.
- Ability to design and deliver standards-based ESL, literacy and content instruction.
- Ability to collaborate with families, educational personnel and community agencies.
Apply for conditional admission after completing 60 undergraduate credits. Application requirements remain the same as the Urban Multicultural Special Education M.Ed. admission requirements.​
B.S.W. to M.S.W.
For students seeking:
For students interested in:
Students can apply for conditional admission when they have completed at least 65 credits in the undergraduate program, and are applying into the B.S.W major. Students must remain in good standing, earn a minimum of C in each undergraduate social work class, maintain an overall GPA of 3.0, and pass all practicum education classes to be granted admission.
