How We Prepare Our Students

The School of Social Work at ΢Ȧ prepares practitioners to:

  • work ​with oppressed groups to alleviate injustice, discrimination and poverty
  • facilitate social policies and resources that meet basic human needs and enhance the quality of life
  • create accessible, responsible, accountable human service programs

United by our professional values and principles, we deliver a rigorous academic program and graduate superior social workers who collectively work to enhance the human experience.

The Center of Excellence | Centro de Excelencia has Arrived!

Created to fill the void of racial and cultural diversity in Rhode Island's behavioral healthcare workforce, the Atrévete Center of Excellence for Latinx/Hispanic Social Work Practice is designed to:

  • build a pipeline of Latinx students from high schools and community colleges to the Accelerated B.S.W. to M.S.W. program
  • recruit and retain Latinx faculty
  • facilitate student-faculty research
  • build community partnerships
