Each Spring semester, all art majors are invited to display a selection of works they have completed during the academic year. Details are posted in Alex & Ani Hall each Spring. Winners are granted partial tuition waivers* for the following academic year.

Mary Ball Howkins Art History Award
The Art History Award was renamed in 2012 in honor of Emeritus Professor Dr. Mary Ball Howkins, who taught for 37 years with outstanding commitment and high standards in the Department of Art. Celebrating achievement in art history, this award goes to a senior student whose work exhibits the highest degree of excellence, including oral and written forms of presentation. To be eligible, a student must have attained an overall grade point average of at least 3.33 and 3.67 in art history courses. Art history faculty base their selection on class work and research as well as academic achievement. The winner is honored at the annual Cap and Gown Convocation and given a cash award provided by the ΢ÃÜȦ Art Club.

Graduating Senior Award in Studio Art
This award for excellence in studio art is made annually to one senior student. It is a competitive award for which eligible graduating seniors present their work to a faculty jury. The winner is honored at the Cap and Gown Convocation and given a cash award provided by the ΢ÃÜȦ Art Club.

The Harriet Brisson Ceramics Award
Established in 2000 in honor of Emeritus Professor Harriet Brisson, who taught Ceramics at ΢ÃÜȦ from 1969 –1997, this award is given to a graduating senior each year that excels in the field of Ceramics. This cash award recognizes creativity, hard work, department involvement, and willingness to mentor others.
