Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Collaborations and Committees
is a partnership of colleges and universities across Rhode Island, the RI Department of Health, and the RI Coalition Against Domestic Violence which meets monthly and provides space for members to facilitate training and discussion surrounding specific sexual violence prevention topics. The collaborative integrates representation from sexual violence prevention staff on each of the eleven colleges/universities across the state. The collaborative offers program evaluation training and technical assistance, and it facilitates community-building of campus practitioners to learn from, support, and work with one another in their campus sexual violence prevention efforts.
The is a team of employees from various state agencies who build relations and share resources with each other to help address areas of underrepresentation.
is a committee to ensure that all people with disabilities are afforded the opportunities to exercise all the rights and responsibilities accorded to citizens of this state and each person with a disability is able to reach his/her maximum potential in independence, human development, productivity and self-sufficiency.
The purpose of the Bias Incident Response advisory committee is to enhance ΢ÃÜȦ’s commitment to best practice in diversity, equity, and inclusion for faculty, staff and students.
This committee supports the Office of Institutional Equity by:
- reviewing reports of bias incidents
- identifying trends and patterns in bias incidents
- recommending best practices as needed
- communicating committee activities to the Director of Institutional Equity
- submitting meeting minutes and producing a quarterly report for the Office of Institutional Equity
- review data and offer recommendations to the Office of Institutional Equity.
This committee is comprised of representatives from the following constituencies:
- Chair: Director of Institutional Equity
- Dean of Students, or designee
- Two (2) faculty members designated by the College Council Chair
- Campus Police Chief, or designee
- Director of Center for Disability Access, or designee
- Director of Human Resources, or designee
- Director of the Unity Center, or designee
- Undergraduate representative appointed by Student Community Government
- Graduate representative appointed by the Dean of Graduate Studies
This campus-wide standing committee, representing a diverse body of stakeholders, is established to review matters of disability accessibility across the ΢ÃÜȦ campus and led by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
The scope of work will address issues of accessibility pertaining—but not limited—to the following: (1) experiences in and out of the classroom, (2) facilities, (3) communications, (4) technology, and (5) student life. This will result in a set of phased recommendations to enhance the accessibility, inclusivity, and climate of our campus.
On a continuing basis, this group will also bring together representatives from additional units and departments across the college to review, implement, and develop strategies, protocols and best practices as further topics relevant to accessibility are identified as areas of focus.

The ΢ÃÜȦ CARE Team engages in proactive and collaborative approaches to provide early identification, review, and management for students of concern and in need of support.
The CARE Team serves as a resource to the campus community by providing guidance for faculty and staff regarding how to seek assistance and refer students in need of support. In addition, the team seeks to create a network where the campus community can respond to situations involving students and work to connect them to essential support services on and/or off campus.
The CARE Team aims to promote student wellbeing and success while prioritizing the safety of students and the ΢ÃÜȦ community.
